Analysis of Evanescence Music Video

This video had an impact on me, because the deep meaningful narrative was portrayed really well in it due to effective camera work, editing, mise-en-scene and sound. The start is an overly cheesy TV advert in which the singer of the band and main character of the video stars in. But by the end of this scene, the music and her facial expression changes to a much darker, depressing feel which proves that the way the character appeared at the start was completely fake to how she really feels. Throughout the video it continuously cuts between her in the adverts doing her job and being the fake person that everyone thinks she is, in contrast to the unstable person who doesnt care about her appearance that she really is. She is never seen to be with anyone else other than a photographer an a few other actors with in the video (who she probably doesnt really know or care about) which implies a lonely existance, probably onbe of the reasons she is so unhappy.
